I have been a residential electrician since 2000. I was trained for 4 years by a close friends father who owned his own company at the beginning of my career. The hands on training I received was integral to my foundation. From there I moved on to working for a General Contractor (Thomas Homes of Hinsdale) as their in house electrician and also as a laborer doing many odd jobs. I stayed with that company for 6 years working with some of the top designers in the business on some of the largest and most extravagant houses in the western suburbs. Then the economy collapsed. It was a bumpy road from there grabbing any work I could take in any trade I could get in.
Then in 2014 my Ohana (family) was started. I had my first of 2 daughters and life made it so I could take a year and a half off to be the rare stay-at-home dad. It was the most fulfilling time of my life. Though life has now thrown me back into the workforce, I was presented with two options. Go and work for others as I have always done, or incest in myself and try to provide customers with the quality and itegrity that I feel mu industry was lacking. Ohana Electric was born in the month of June 2016. I named it Ohana for two reasons. One, half my daughter's family are born and raised in Hawaii and the culture has become a part of mine. The second reason is because I understand that having your home worked on can be a daunting experience. You are inviting a stranger into the place where you share your meals and raise your family. That is not something I take lightly. Our company motto is "treating your family as our own" because I want every customer to feel appreciated and an integral part of my family's growth and happiness. It is because of our customers that my family will prosper and I will never take that lightly.
With that said, I hope this gives you some insight into the Ohana Electric family. And I would love the opportunity to bring you into our ohana as well.
